SATURDAY SIX

Saturday Six
    1. Who is the first celebrity you recall having a crush on?   Bobby Sherman

2. What was your favorite amusement park ride when you were young?  Small roller coaster at Buddy's

3. If you could change your name (first or middle but the name you go by), would you, and if so, what would you change it to?   I used to hate the name LuAnne.  I wanted to change it to anything other than LuAnne.  But now I wouldn't change it at all.

4. Go to http://kabalarians.com/ and take the "First Name Analysis" test.  Do you agree with what the site comes up with?

Although the name LuAnne creates idealism and the urge to help others, we emphasize that it limits your versatility and scope, tuning you to technical details. This name, when combined with the last name, can frustrate happiness, contentment, and success, as well as cause health weaknesses in the nervous system, and elimination system.

Your name of LuAnne creates a desire to be of service to others, but its practicality and attention to detail restrict spontaneity. This name creates much frustration, nervous tension, and personal unhappiness because you are not able to realize your ambitions and ideals. You desire your life to be orderly and systematized and you keep your surroundings neat and tidy, but others often see you as fussy over little things. You are a patient person and you will work hard one step at a time to accomplish your endeavours. You tend to be thorough in building a solid foundation of fact and logic, but are not inclined to pursue inspirational or creative expressionas in music or the arts.

I agree, oh I agree very much!!!

5. Other than Johnny Carson, which former talk show host's tape archives would you most like to visit, and why?  I have no clue.

6. READER'S CHOICE QUESTION #44  from Jessie:   If you were in good health, would you donate a kidney to a friend who's dying regardless of what your family's opinion are and if yes or no, why or why not?

I definitely would.  But, I cannot answer this questions from the point of view of being in good health.  My answer has to be jaded.  I know what it means to be sick.  Not dying.  But, sick.  If I were in good health and able to stop someone's suffering and stop someone from dying I would do it without out thinking.  No matter what anyone else said.

SURRENDING AGAIN

I knew it was coming.

It has the same pattern.

Like a mathematical formula.

It can always be trusted to take the identical destructive track.

I woke up today in one of the worst pain days I have ever had.  There is nothing to be done for it either.  I gave in last night and took the "Big Gun Meds."  After trying the lesser menacing alternatives.  I even plastered two lidocaine patches to my neck and shoulders.  I had to give in.  Those meds helped for a total of 1 hour maybe 1 hour and 45 mintues tops.  I'm on a lower dosage of prednisione.

Nothing to do except ride this one out.

Let another day, week, or month to be SURRENDERED TO LUPUS.  Because I never know how long a flare will actually last.

SNOW SNOW SNOW

It is still snowing this morning! Right now the temperature is 16 degrees but it feels like minus 1 when you take the wind chill factor into consideration.  Right now we have at least 18 inches of snow on the ground I would think.  It looks really pretty outside.  Gary shoveled a few times already.  The local airports have cancelled hundreds of flights.  Mayor Blumberg said that it would cost approximately $1 million dollars an inch to take care of snow removal.  We are all comfy and warm at home today.  They say we should end up with about 20 inches of snow.  I think we will get more.

Staten Island, NY ...A BLIZZARD WARNING CONTINUES UNTIL 12 NOON EST THIS AFTERNOON... ...SNOWFALL IMPACTS... SNOW WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE AREAS INTO THE MORNING HOURS BEFORE TAPERING OFF BY EARLY IN THE AFTERNOON. SNOWFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR WILL BE FOUND IN THE HEAVIEST BANDS OF SNOW. STORM TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL RANGE FROM 12 TO 18 INCHES. ...WIND IMPACTS... EAST TO NORTHEAST WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO INCREASE EARLY THIS MORNING...REACHING SPEEDS OF 30 TO 35 MPH WITH SOME GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 45. THIS WILL CAUSE CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF THE SNOW...LOWERING VISIBILITIES TO NEAR ZERO AT TIMES. THE HIGH WINDS MAY ALSO CAUSE TREE LIMBS AND POWER LINES TO BE DOWNED...RESULTING IN LOCALIZED POWER OUTAGES. WIND CHILLS WILL DROP TO AS LOW AS ZERO TO 5 BELOW THIS MORNING. ...ACTION STATEMENTS... THE COMBINATION OF THE SNOWFALL AND WINDS WILL CREATE BLIZZARD CONDITIONS AT TIMES THROUGH EARLY SUNDAY AFTERNOON. TRAVEL WILL BE DIFFICULT AT BEST...AND IS HIGHLY DISCOURAGED. VENTURING OUT OF DOORS WILL BE DANGEROUS DUE TO THE NEAR ZERO VISIBILITIES AND LOW WIND CHILLS. YOU CAN BECOME LOST OR DISORIENTED VERY QUICKLY IN WHITEOUT CONDITIONS.

BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE

It's

Oh Baby It’s Cold Outside!

Right now it’s 4 degrees outside with a wind chill of minus 10.  We have a Blizzard Warning in effect. We are expecting 14 to 18 inches of snow.  The weatherman is saying we can expect Thunder Snow.  I’ve never heard of that before.

Blizzard Warning:  The most dangerous type of winter storm.  Snow and strong winds are combined which produce a blinding snow with visibility often near "zero".   Whiteout conditions, deep snowdrifts, and life threatening wind chills often accompany a blizzard.  You should seek refuge from the storm immediately, or not go outside!  In a blizzard, winds are 35 mph or greater and visibility reduced to less than 1/4 mile with snow and blowing snow.

Of course, last night after the psychiatrist Gary and I went into Pathmark.  We needed milk and bread.  It was like a madhouse in there.  There wasn’t a load of bread to be found.  Or so I thought.  I located one loaf.  One lone loaf of Arnold Brick Oven White Bread just waiting for LuAnne to snatch up and bring home.  After all a blizzard was coming.  We bought some comfort food.  Nothing we couldn’t do without.  But, it’s human nature to nest before a snowstorm.  We bought cookies, milk, frosting, coffee-mate vanilla cream for my coffee, farina, tuna for tuna casserole, grated cheese for pasta on Sunday.  Made sure I had laundry soap of course, Ivory soap for the shower.  Plus some other shopping necessities.  We will be held up in the house for like 2 days.  Not the weeks of winter hibernation of the Little House on the Prairie Days.  But it makes for nice comfort and family time.  There’s nothing wrong with that.
